Accessibility
Academic Computing and Networking Services (ACNS) authors Web pages to the recommendations of the W3C including XHTML 1.1, CSS 2, and the WCAG 1.0 instead of to the quirks of old, non-standards-compliant browsers.
As a result, this site displays properly in the browsers that support the Web standards (i.e. Firefox 1.0 and newer, Mozilla 1.0.1 and newer, Safari 1.0 and newer, Internet Explorer 5 and newer, Opera 6 and newer, Konqueror 3 and newer, and Netscape 7 and newer), while the sites content, or text, is accessible to just about any Internet device from the earliest browsers to PDAs and Web phones.
This is achieved by using XHTML for structure and CSS for presentation combined with techniques found in The Web Standards Project's Method 2 (Invisible Object) to "hide" the site's design from browsers that do not support CSS. it.
